Here at Moovd we understand how difficult it has been during the lockdown for the property market, not being able to look into selling your property or look for your dream home.
Thankfully, following on from the latest Government information, the property market has been able to resume operation. Now that we can start to return to a new normal within the industry, we need to assess the safest way to allow viewings in your home.
Our team at Moovd will do everything possible to keep all parties safe when you are letting potential buyers view your house. We have issued some simple guidelines to help stop any safety breaches. In this blog we discuss these guidelines and our forward-thinking team members will gladly go through these steps in more detail with you when you have a potential viewing.
When letting viewers into your home, please try to keep 2 meters between you. We understand that some properties are smaller than others and this can be difficult so, think that 2 meters is about two long strides or the length of a door.
When opening and closing doors within your home please make sure you wash your hands thoroughly. Plus any items that people from outside your home are likely to touch like door handles, doorbells and windows will need clean before and after a viewing.
When you put your property on the market or when a viewing appointment has been arranged through one of our friendly agents, you will be asked a short series of questions, again this is to keep everyone in the process safe. If you or someone in your household has symptoms of COVID-19 or has recently tested positive, we will not be able to offer any viewings until safe to do so. This also goes for any agent coming to do a valuation or when buyers enquire about viewing the property.
Before you have any prospective viewers come and have a look around, we would expect you do a deep clean of the house. Not just to remove any germs but to also make your house look its very best for potential new owners. If you or the agent is taking the viewing it would be best for them to open the doors and touch surfaces rather than the potential buyers. If your agent is taking the viewing it may be best to plan ahead for you to leave the house while this is taking place, this will allow all parties to keep their distance. Any internal doors that may be inside the property that can be left open, we recommend they are open to minimise the risk of spreading germs.
We are aware of how hard it can be to get your hands-on certain items during this time but, where possible if you could provide hand sanitizer on entry, wear facemasks or any other disposable protection like gloves this would be much appreciated.
Often, if you have found a buyer the agent may want to stay back for a short period after to congratulate you and give you any feedback. To keep you and own of our agents safe please avoid any handshakes! For any follow up calls we will complete this via phone or video chat to ensure the process is not just smooth for you but also safe. And finally, once your agent has left please wipe down any surfaces you think anyone may have touched.
Thank you in advance for your co-corporation and we can’t wait to help you with your next step on the property market. If you would like more information you can call us on: 0191 909 7020 or visit our website at: www.moovd.co.uk
